Commencement ceremonies SaturdayFall commencement ceremonies are set for 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the SIU Arena. There are 3,438 candidates for degrees, including: 2,650 candidates for undergraduate degrees, 13 candidates for law degrees, 676 candidates for master’s degrees and 99 doctoral candidates. Chancellor Walter V. Wendler will welcome graduates, families and friends and confer degrees at both ceremonies. The morning ceremony will include the following colleges: Agricultural Sciences, Applied Sciences and Arts, Business and Administration, Education and Human Services, and Engineering. The afternoon ceremony includes the Graduate School, School of Law and the colleges of Liberal Arts, Mass Communications and Media Arts, and Science. Sheri Hunter, president of the SIU Alumni Association, will speak during the morning ceremony, and Doris Rottschalk, president-elect of the Association, will speak at the afternoon ceremony.
