Volunteer to telephone potential Salukis

The SIUC admissions staff is again looking for volunteers to help make telephone calls to current high school seniors who have received, but not yet submitted an application to SIUC.

Last year's telephone efforts was one of many that resulted in a 12 percent increase in the number of new freshmen on campus this fall, according to Carmen Suarez, SIUC's coordinator for diversity and equity.

The goal is to make a large number of telephone calls over a three-day period, starting Sunday, Nov. 18, to assist the telecounseling center's efforts.

The telephone counseling sessions are:

  • 5:30-8:30 p.m., Sunday-Tuesday, Nov. 18-20.

Pizza and soda are provided.

To sign up to make telephone calls, or for more information, contact Suarez at csuarez@siu.edu.
