Time remains to give to SECA charitiesThere's still time to make a contribution to the State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) charity of your choice. The current "A Gift from the Heart" campaign, which began in September, is set to end Friday, Nov. 9, although gifts will still be accepted to the more than 2,000 SECA Qualified Charitable Organizations after the deadline. This year marks the campaign's 25th anniversary — in efforts to meet social service needs statewide. In 2006, state employees donated more than $3.063 million, a more than 11 percent increase in two years, according to the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. Since 1983, state employees have donated more than $53 million to SECA. If you have any questions please contact Marge McFadden, SECA ambassador, at 618/453-6689.
