Business college video getting noticedIn the two weeks since SIUC's College of Business and Administration posted its new promotional video on YouTube, the piece has been viewed more than 1,100 times. "We hoped we would reach a wide audience but we are very impressed how quickly the word has spread." said Dean J. Dennis Cradit. The six-minute video highlights the college's strengths, which are its student-centered learning environment, top-notch academic offerings, obsession with technology, global reach and innovative spirit. Producers interviewed the dean, faculty, staff and several students for the project. "The school - it's got that feel that it's not a major institution, it feels like a community," said MBA student Wyatt Wallace when interviewed on camera. "We know that our students and prospective College of Business students are on YouTube daily so we are bringing our message to them," said Cradit. So far, the plan seems to be working. The College of Business and Administration joins other corporations, institutions and government agencies that are using YouTube to market themselves at a minimal cost. "It didn't cost us a cent to post our video on YouTube," said Cradit. "In an era of dwindling budgets, YouTube's price is just right." You can view the college's video here. Established in 1957, SIUC College of Business and Administration is among the nation's most reputable business schools. U.S. News & World Report ranks the college as one of the top 100 public business schools nationwide. - Sun Min |
