SIRIS fall yard sale is SaturdayA fall yard sale to benefit the Southern Illinois Radio Information Service (SIRIS) is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27. The yard sale will be at 1003 S. Oakland Ave. near the intersection of South Oakland Avenue and West Chautauqua Street. The event will be held rain or shine. The Southern Illinois Radio Information Service is a non-profit reading service for the blind, visually impaired, and print-disabled, operated through the WSIU Public Radio stations at SIUC. Voice recordings are offered free of charge to anyone in our listening area who is unable to read normal printed material. Books, CDs, DVDs, toys, electronics, kitchenware, and other household items will be available for purchase. Proceeds will be used to purchase and place free SIRIS receivers with qualified users. SIRIS welcomes your donations. Anyone with used books, CDs or DVDs, toys, appliances or other household items that are in good condition may drop them off at SIRIS at 1003 S.
