Coming eventsThe School of Art and Design is hosting a first-year graduate student slide show from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29, in the University Museum Auditorium. All first-year students in the school's master of fine arts program will give a three-minute presentation as an introduction to their recent work and to themselves. For more information email Chris Wildrick, acting head of graduate studies. "Blurry Vision," an exhibition featuring prints by artist Luca Cruzat, is on display through Friday, Aug. 26, in the Vergette Gallery in the Allyn Building. The exhibition is free. A reception is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, and is also free. Combined receptions for four exhibitions that start the school year are from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at University Museum in Faner Hall. The exhibitions are: "Behind the Masks," "Good Dog, Bon Chien," "Southern Illinois Photographic Society Show," and "American Limner Portraits: 1820-1900." The reception is free.
