Calendar training sessions set for employeesTraining sessions for University employees to learn how to post events and activities to the electronic public events calendar are set for Sept. 20, 22 and 30. The calendar is a Web-based system for the posting of University and University-related activities on a publicly accessible Internet Web site (http://calendar.siu.edu). Media & Communication Resources relies on the participation of individual University departments to post their own events. Each unit should have one individual authorized by the department head to post events to the calendar; that individual must complete the calendar training. It's a collaborative project designed to provide a one-stop link for public events on campus. The Sept. 20 and 22 training sessions will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Training on Sept. 30 is set for 10 a.m. to noon. Robert Cerchio, director of Shryock Auditorium, will lead the training sessions. To reserve a seat, e-mail Bonnie Marx in Media & Communication Resources at bmarx@siu.edu. Please indicate your first, second and third choices for dates and times. The training sessions will be held in the AIS computer lab in the Northwest Annex. |
