Honorary Student Life Advisors sought

Faculty and staff can help make the first day for new Salukis fun and exciting by participating in SIUC's Week of Welcome (WOW) 2005 on move-in day, Friday, Aug. 19. The tradition dates back to 1986.

Student Programs is inviting faculty, staff, registered student organizations, community members, or business representatives to volunteer their time as an Honorary Student Life Advisor. The honorary SLA's assist new students with moving in, and is a great way to welcome new students and their parents.

Honorary SLA's are assigned to one of the residence hall areas from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 19 to greet and informally interact with new students and their parents. Program participants receive a T-shirt, and Saluki Mover button with a nametag. University Housing will provide a free lunch.

Participants may choose their location, time to volunteer, and whether you want to be a mover or greeter.

For more information call 453-1000 or go to the Honorary Student Life Advisor Web site to register to participate. The application must be returned no later than Monday, Aug. 8.
