Morris Library floors closing on MondayWith the relocation of staff and materials to the McLafferty Annex just around the corner, floors two through seven of Morris Library will close on Monday, Aug. 1. They will remain closed for the duration of the renovation and expansion of the library. The basement and first floor will remain open and will offer these services: first floor – circulation/interlibrary loan, reserves, information/reference; basement – magazines and journals (1996-current), books (2002-current), map library, Geographic Information Systems and the Curriculum Materials Center. To request materials relocated to the McLafferty Annex, an in-house retrieval form is available on the library's Web site at www.lib.siu.edu/hp/diversions/access/storage.shtml. Patrons may also submit requests for materials in person at the circulation desk. The library's goal is two-hour turnaround for materials requested from the annex. Those materials will be held at the circulation desk for 48 hours. The schedule for the renovation/expansion, the largest capital project in the University's history, calls for completion in December 2008. More details on the library renovation project are available here.
