The end of the 2005 summer concert series, and the work of talented teens from throughout the region retelling the familiar tale of star-crossed lovers in 1957 New York City are among the highlights on campus this week.

The 27th annual Sunset Concert series closes for this year featuring the reggae of Gizzae. The free outdoor concert begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 28, on the steps of Shryock Auditorium.

“West Side Story” runs for four days at McLeod Theater. The production is from the Carbondale Community Arts' All-Southern High School Music Theater Project. The production is at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, July 29-30, and Monday, Aug. 1. A matinee performance is 2 p.m., Sunday, July 31. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. The performances are part of the McLeod Summer Playhouse. For more information or ticket reservations call 618/453-3001.
