Civil Service sick leave policy revisedSIUC has implemented three significant revisions in sick leave policies all geared to offer Carbondale employees more benefits. SIUC Chancellor Walter V. Wendler said the changes went into effect July 1 for all non-represented Civil Service employees. Essentially they expand the number of paid days available under extended sick leave and also allow the extended sick leave to be used for family members, not just the employee. The changes apply to only non-represented Civil Service employees and are more closely aligned with benefits already held by Administrative/Professional staff. The University will address changes for represented Civil Service Employees through collective bargaining, said Human Resources Director Kathleen M. Blackwell. Changes:
