NotableRickey N. McCurry, vice chancellor for Institutional Advancement; Marsha G. Ryan, president of the Garwin Family Foundation, immediate past president of the SIU Foundation Board, and adjunct law professor; and Mike Murray, director of corporate relations and a board member of the George A. Bates Memorial Foundation, presented the program, "Success With Family Foundations: Perspectives From Board Members," at the Council For Advancement and Support Of Education Annual Conference for Corporate and Foundation Relations Officers on June 3 in Chicago. Carolyn A. Snyder, director of Foundation Relations and professor of Library Affairs, was the session designer. Each person spoke from their perspective in working with family foundations. More than 100 participants heard the presentation. Donald D. Mills, assistant professor of mathematics, has been invited to serve on the Editorial Board of the journal Cryptologia, an established scholarly journal devoted to all aspects of cryptology. Subject areas covered by this journal include computer security, history, codes and ciphers, mathematics, military science, espionage, cipher devices, literature, and ancient languages.
