Elaine T. Jurkowski, an associate professor in the School of Social Work, has been selected out of a national competition to be one of 15 candidates to participate in a National Institute on Aging (NIA) funded Research Training in Social Work Institute, commencing later this year. The 18-month program is designed to help social work faculty be more successful in securing NIA funding. The program will meet for blocks of intensive workshops and include some of the following modules:

  • Preparing grant applications
  • Research design, measurement and analysis
  • Evaluation of interventions
  • Experts from around the country on topics related to aging.
