Coming eventsThe SIUC Egyptian Suzuki School Honors Recital is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 18, in the Old Baptist Foundation Recital Hall. Paula M. Allison, an assistant instructor in the School of Music, is director. Admission is free.
Some of the nation's leading experts on health care will visit SIUC to discuss a new approach to health care financing, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May, 19, in the SIUC law school auditorium. The symposium is the eighth annual SIH/SIU Health Policy Institute. Admission to the workshop is $25. Registration is available up to the time of the event.
Clay Nielsen, assistant scientist at the University's Cooperative Wildlife Research Laboratory, will give a presentation on maintaining harmony between humans and deer on campus next week. The presentation, "The Nature of Deer-Human Conflicts: Avoiding Deer-Human Encounters of the Third Kind on Campus,” is at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 25, in Room 259, Life Science III.
The Big Hands for Little Giants Motorcycle & Specialty Car Show runs June 2-4 at Illinois Centre Mall in Marion. The event benefits Camp Little Giant, a residential camping program serving adults and children with special needs at SIUC's Touch of Nature Environmental Center. The mall event includes bands, helicopter rides, a poker run and auction, among other events.
