The Saluki men's baseball team hosts Northern Iowa in a three-game series this weekend at Abe Martin Field. SIU faces the Panthers in single games that begin at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11; 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12; and 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13. Admission is free.

 

The School of Art & Design is hosting its senior thesis exhibition 2007, “Taking Flight,” from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, May 12, in the Surplus Gallery at the Glove Factory, 432 S. Washington St. The show features work of all graduating seniors in art in all mediums. The opening reception is immediately following commencement ceremonies at the SIU Arena. Admission is free.

 

Give Mom a rest and show everyone how much you appreciate her efforts by treating her to the annual Mother's Day Brunch, Sunday, May 13, in the Student Center Ballrooms. The lunch buffet is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Menu items include glazed carved ham, herb & garlic sauce, twice baked potato casserole, spinach & mushroom frittata, creamy pasta salad, cider-glazed carrots, buttery croissants, and fresh herb dinner rolls. Advance tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for SIUC students and senior citizens, and $6 for children, 6 to 10 years old. Children five and under are free. Tickets purchased the day of the event are an additional $1. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Central Ticket Office on the Student Center's second floor, or by calling 453-3478. The Saluki men's baseball team hosts Eastern Illinois in a non-conference game at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, at Abe Martin Field. The game closes out the regular-season home schedule. Admission is free.
