Final two chancellor finalists on campus

The two remaining finalists for chancellor of SIUC are participating in open public forums over the next week.

Yash P. Gupta, professor of operations management, Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, visits today (May 2) through Saturday, May 5.

Gupta's open public forums in Carbondale and Springfield are:

  • Thursday, May 3 — 4:30-5:30 p.m., SIUC faculty, Student Center Auditorium.
  • Friday, May 4 — 8:30-9:30 a.m., Administrative/Professional and Civil Service staff, Student Center Auditorium.
  • Friday, May 4 — 9:45-10:45 a.m., SIUC students, Student Center Auditorium.
  • Friday, May 4 — 4-5 p.m., SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, Dirksen Conference Room.

The fourth candidate, Fernando M. Treviño, dean of the School of Public Health, the University of North Texas Science Center in Fort Worth, visits Sunday, May 6, through Wednesday, May 9.

Treviño's open public forums in Carbondale and Springfield are:

  • Monday, May 7 — 4:30-5:30 p.m., SIUC faculty, Student Center Auditorium.
  • Tuesday, May 8 — 8:30-9:30 a.m., Administrative/Professional and Civil Service staff. Student Center Auditorium.
  • Tuesday, May 8 — 9:45-10:45 a.m., SIUC students, Student Center Auditorium.
  • Tuesday, May 8 — 4-5 p.m., SIU School of Medicine, Springfield, West Auditorium.

The other two finalists, John H. Frederick, executive vice president and provost, University of Nevada, Reno, visited April 25-28, and Sue Kiefer Hammersmith, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, visited April 29 through May 2.
