Urinetown (the musical), a wacky musical satire, will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, through Saturday, April 28, in McLeod Theater. Matinee performances are at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28, and Sunday, April 29. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for children, and $6 for students and children. The box office is open from noon to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and one hour before each performance. Call 618/453-3001 to charge by credit card.
The SIUC Horticulture Society's two-day plant sale is Thursday, April 26, and Friday, April 27. The sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The sale is in front of the Agricultural Sciences building near Lincoln Drive. Vegetables, annuals, perennials, grasses, herbs, succulents and more are available.
Enjoy sushi - part of Asian American Heritage Month - from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26, in the Student Center's Old Main Restaurant. People attending can work alongside chefs while learning the art of making sushi. The event costs $6.55 and includes the demonstration, buffet and sushi. A lecture, "African Americans in Europe Between the Wars," is at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26, in the University Museum Auditorium. Werner Sollors, the Henry B. and Anne M. Cabot, professor of English Literature, and a professor of African and African American Studies at Harvard University presents the discussion. Admission is free.
Michele Torre, a doctoral candidate in the University of Southern California's School of Cinema/TV, presents a lecture on film practices in Russia with her discussion, "Media Men, Vampires and Prostitutes: New Directions in Russian Cinema," at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26, in Communications Building, room 1032. Singer, songwriter and visual artist Terry Allen, is on campus beginning Thursday, April 26 as part of the School of Art and Design's Visiting Artist program. Allen will discuss his artwork in a lecture at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 26 in Lawson Hall, room 161. He hosts a musical performance at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at Shryock Auditorium. Cataclysm!: A Post-Medium Revision of S.I. Witkiewicz's play, "The Water Hen," hits Kleinau Theatre at 8 p.m., Thursday, April 26. The production also will be performed at the same time on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28. Admission is $7; $5 for students.
The Saluki men's baseball team hosts Missouri State in a three-game series this weekend at Abe Martin Field. SIU faces the Bears in single games that begin at 3 p.m., Friday, April 27; 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28; and 1 p.m., Sunday, April 29. Admission is free.

The SIUC campus and Campus Lake will be bustling Saturday, April 28, during "‘Splashin' Saturday." The 24th annual Robert "Doc" Spackman Memorial Triathlon, which honors the late Robert "Doc" Spackman, SIUC's long-time athletics trainer and nationally recognized expert on physical fitness, begins at 8 a.m. The event - which consists of a 385-yard swim, five-mile bike and two-mile run - begins at 8 a.m. The triathlon is open to the first 25 teams and 300 individuals. It's time again to make, or at least try to make, that fantastic voyage with the 34th annual Great Cardboard Boat Regatta. The fun is from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at Campus Lake. Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Boat Dock. A limited number of instant boat kits are available for $10.

Louis Fisher, a specialist in constitutional law with the Library of Congress Law Library, presents the Morton-Kenney Public Affairs Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, in the Student Center Auditorium. Fisher will discuss "Presidential Power in a Time of War." Admission is free.

The nationally ranked SIU women's softball team hosts Illinois in a doubleheader that starts at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, at Charlotte West Stadium. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for faculty, staff, senior citizens and children. SIUC students are free with a valid SIUC student ID.
"An Evening with Maya Angelou," is at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, in the Student Center Ballrooms. Angelou is the author of many best-selling books, including, ‘I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings."
