Polite debate -- Former U.S. Sen. Tom Daschle (left) listens to former U.S. Secretary of Education Rodney Paige Tuesday, April 18, at Shryock Auditorium as the two men debate the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Daschle, D-South Dakota, and Paige, who helped guide the legislation to approval, supported the program signed into law by President George Bush in January 2002. Daschle, the former Senate majority leader, now questions its effectiveness. Daschle and Paige also answered questions from the large audience.
