Health and nutrition fair today

March is National Nutrition Month, and to celebrate, University Housing and Student Health Programs Wellness Center are co-sponsoring the fourth annual Health and Nutrition Program Fair.

The fair is today, March 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. on the lower level of Grinnell Hall. The event is free.

The theme of this year's event is "Get a Taste for Nutrition." The focus is promoting healthy eating while incorporating a variety of foods, maintaining a healthy weight, balancing food choices with your lifestyle, and getting physical.

The lower level of Grinnell Hall will feature larger-than-life fruits, vegetables, spices, and bowls of cereal!

There will be 25-30 exhibitors from the University and Carbondale community, including the Student Recreation Center, Student Emergency Dental Service, Dental Hygiene, Student Health Assessment Center, American Diabetes Association, Barrett Chiropractic, Residence Hall Dining, the Food & Nutrition 410 Class, US Foodservice, Prevention Laboratories, and the Student Health Programs Stress and Sexuality programs.

Exhibitors will provide nutrition and health information as well as other give-aways, and WCIL-FM (101.5 FM) will conduct a live remote. The first 400 participants will receive a free T-shirt. Prizes will be given away every 15 minutes throughout the event.
