Rothstein, director of the Institute for Bioethics, Health Policy and Law at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, presents the inaugural John & Marsha Ryan Bioethicist-in-Residence lecture at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 21, in the Life Science III, auditorium, Room 1059. Rothstein will present, "Health Privacy in the Electronic Age." Admission is free, and the lecture is open to the public.

Sunny Yoon, an associate professor at Seoul, Korea’s Hanyang University, discusses how Korea is now getting involved in a political battle against Hollywood with a lecture, "Dominance of Hollywood in the World Film Market and the Resistance of Regional Communities," at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22. The lecture will be held in Communications Building, room 1032. Yoon is a visiting research fellow at SIUC’s Global Media Research Center. Admission is free.
The Saluki men's basketball team faces Kansas in the "Sweet 16," — the semifinal of the NCAA Tournament's West Regional at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, March 22, in San Jose, Calif. The game will be televised on CBS by KFVS.
Old Crow Medicine Show brings a unique brand of punkified old-time acoustic sound to Shryock Auditorium at 8 p.m., Thursday, March 22. Tickets are $18 in advance; $20 the day of the show. The 9th annual Nutrition 5K Run/Walk & Kid K is set to begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 24, at the Giant Sycamore Pavilion at Evergreen Park in Carbondale. Day of race registration is $12 per person for the 5K race and $6 per child for the KidK. Children also have the no shirt/run free option. A family rate that allows up to two adults and any number of children to enter the race for $30 is also available. Race t-shirts are guaranteed for the first 100 registrants.
