Sharing comprehensive recruiting ideas -- Leaders from automotive, aviation and diversity fields throughout the United States, along with student and faculty representatives participated in a daylong panel discussion Monday, March 6, focusing on ways to achieve greater diversity in faculty and student recruitment in the nationally recognized aviation and automotive programs within the College of Applied Sciences and Arts. Dean Paul D. Sarvela told the 14-member panel the college will work hard to incorporate upcoming recommendations in the comprehensive recruitment program. Participating in the discussion were clockwise, beginning top left: David A. NewMyer, chair of aviation management and flight; Jack S. Greer, chair of automotive technologies; John D. Cotter, interim chair of aviation technologies; Eileen Taylor, president and owner of HaT Management Services in Indianapolis, and a former system analyst with the Federal Aviation Administration, and Jose Ruiz, assistant professor in aviation management and flight.
