Nominations sought for Sturgis awardNominations are being accepted for the 2008 Lindell W. Sturgis Memorial Public Service Award. The SIU Board of Trustees presents this award annually to a faculty or staff member as recognition of his or her contributions to the community, area, state or nation based on activities unrelated to job responsibilities. The award includes a cash gift of $750, a plaque, and reserved parking space for a year. The award will be presented by the SIU Board of Trustees during the June 2008 board meeting, with a special luncheon following. The application deadline is April 25. A PDF version of the nomination form is available here. All SIUC employees are eligible for consideration. Letters of additional support are encouraged especially where the nomination is for or from a supervisor or family member. Nominations may be received from SIUC employees or the general public.
