Effort under way to help families

University Housing is collecting household items and clothing for the Evergreen Terrace residents who lost some or all of their belongings in a fire early Tuesday morning. Twenty people lived in the building, including six children. There were no injuries.

All of the residents have been relocated to other apartments in Evergreen Terrace or at Southern Hills. Among the items needed are:

  • Ladies clothing sizes 4, 10 and 11, and size 8 shoes.
  • Baby shoes, sizes 2 and 3.
  • Children's clothing, sizes small and medium, along with girl's size 4 shoes.
  • Men's medium and extra-large shirts, as well as pants in sizes 32/30, 34/32 and 38/long.

Members of the University community interested in donating items can call Jana Wedeking, office systems specialist I with University Housing, 453-2301, or by e-mail.
