Coming eventsThe Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra celebrates America's great musical theater traditions with "Broadway Pops," at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Shryock Auditorium. Tickets are $18; $12 for children 15 and younger and senior citizens 60 and older. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster at 866/646-8849 or at any Ticketmaster outlet. The men's basketball team plays on the national stage again at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, when it hosts Louisiana Tech at the SIU Arena in an ESPN Bracket Buster game. Tickets are $18/$16/$10 depending on location, and $6 for children in the upper bowl. Students get in free with a valid SIUC ID. Tickets are available at the ticket office in Lingle Hall from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and at the Arena ticket booth one hour prior to tip-off. Marlon Blackwell, architect and professor at the University of Arkansas, will lecture at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, in Brown Auditorium in Parkinson Hall. The School of Architecture is sponsoring the lecture, which is free and open to the public. The University's financial aid office is sponsoring a Financial Aid Night from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Student Health Center. Parents and prospective students can get questions answered about financial aid during the event, part of Financial Aid Awareness Month. |
