'Fitfest' scheduled for Feb. 25-26

SIUC's Recreational Sports and Services plays host to the Eighth Annual Midwest Fitfest Conference Feb. 25-26 at the Student Recreation Center.

The conference is open to anyone in the fitness industry, including instructors from local and regional public and privately owned gyms and clubs, as well as physical education teacher and health educators.

The event will run 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 25 and 7:30 a.m. until noon on Feb. 26. Educational sessions include fitness-related injuries, analyzing and assessing posture and body alignment, sports nutrition and others.

The office will accept applications up to Feb. 25. Student price is $30, university affiliates pay $40 and community members pay $50. A group registration of six or more includes a 10 percent discount.
