Pulliam Scholarship applications are available

The SIU Alumni Association is accepting applications for the Roscoe Pulliam Memorial Scholarship.

Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled or admitted to SIUC. Applicants must be a child, grandchild or sibling to an alumnus or alumna of SIUC who is a current member of the SIU Alumni Association. The applicants must be admitted or currently enrolled undergraduate students for a minimum 12 credit hours.

Applicants must submit a copy of an SIUC financial aid award letter and three letters of recommendation, including one from the relative holding association membership.

Academic requirements are:

  • Entering freshmen must rank in the upper 10 percent of their high school graduating class, and have a minimum score of 26 on their ACT exam or 1170 on the SAT exam
  • Enrolled students must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 and provide a current transcript
  • Transfer students should have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 for all colleges attended and provide a transcript.

The deadline for applications is April 13. Applications are available from the SIU Alumni Association's Student Center Office or by visiting www.siualumni.com. For more information call 453-2417.

The scholarships are given in memory of Roscoe Pulliam, SIUC's sixth president. He served as president from 1935 until his death in 1944.
