Enjoying the action

Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich (right) took in his first Saluki men's basketball game Jan. 19 at the Arena with Chancellor Walter V. Wendler. The governor visited campus as part of a two-day swing through the region to discuss economic development initiatives, including the proposed Transportation Education Center. The facility, planned for the Southern Illinois Airport, would house the University's acclaimed aviation and automotive programs. Blagojevich has previously expressed his support for the $39 million project.
