Student Information System vendors to visit

Prospective vendors for the new Student Information System for SIUC will be on campus in the next two weeks.

Oracle (People Soft) will be on campus Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Jan. 25. SunGard SCT (Banner) will be on campus Tuesday, Jan. 31, and Wednesday, Feb. 1. The goal is that a recommendation for awarding the project will be placed on the SIU Board of Trustees agenda for the March 9 meeting.

Each vendor will give various presentations during their visit. Some presentations will be specific to functional units, and some open to the campus community. All presentations will be in the Student Center auditorium.

The schedule for each vendor is:

Day 1

• 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. -- General overview (Open forum)
• 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. -- Admissions
• 11:30 a.m. to noon -- Lunch break
• Noon to 2 p.m. -- Financial Aid
• 2 to 4 p.m. -- Bursar’s Office

Day 2

• 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. -- Records/Registration
• 10:30 a.m. to noon -- Information Technology/Administrative Information Systems
• Noon to 12:30 p.m. -- Lunch break
• 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. -- General Overview (Open forum)
• 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. -- Interface Offices (Includes Housing, Budget Office, Institutional Research, Student Health, Physical Plant, Library)
• 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. -- SIS RFP (Request for proposals) Committee.
