Secretary of State's mobile office comes to SIUCSecretary of State Jesse White's office is coming to SIUC on Thursday, Jan. 17. Students, faculty and staff can renew their driver's licenses or state identifications, purchase annual vehicle license plate stickers, register to become an organ or tissue donor or take care of other matters they would normally have to go to the secretary of state's office to handle. White's office will offer specified driver and vehicle services in Ballroom A of the Student Center, located at 1255 Lincoln Drive, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The mobile office will allow people to renew, replace or correct driver's licenses and state identification cards. They may also purchase vehicle license plate renewal stickers, SIUC collegiate license plates as well as passenger and B class truck plates. Secretary of State employees will also handle vehicle title registrations and provide parking placards for those who qualify due to disability. Those obtaining services at the mobile office on campus may pay by personal checks or cash. Staff will be unable to process credit or debit cards at this location. The Secretary of State mobile unit will return to the SIUC campus offering the same services from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. March 20 and April 17. - Christi Mathis |
